Rénoclimat: money for your windows.
Up to $150 per opening for your ENERGY STAR certified doors and windows, and much more for your energy-efficient work. We guide you from the first call to the cheque.
What is Rénoclimat?
Rénoclimat is a Government of Quebec program that helps owners improve the energy performance of their home. An energy assessment measures the gains before and after the work, and you receive financial assistance based on the improvements made, including replacing your doors and windows.

Government of Quebec program
ENERGY STAR certified doors and windowsWhy it’s worth it.
A complete energy assessment
An advisor inspects your home, runs an airtightness test and hands you a personalized report.
Help for your windows
$150 per opening replaced with an ENERGY STAR certified door or window.
Other work covered
Amounts also apply to insulation, air sealing and mechanical systems.
Stackable with other grants
Rénoclimat can usually be combined with LogisVert to maximize your support.
Are you eligible?
Rénoclimat is for owners of residential homes in Quebec. Here are the main criteria to meet. When in doubt, don’t worry about it: we confirm your eligibility for you, for free.
Type of home
Single-family home (detached, semi-detached or row), mobile home, year-round cottage, duplex or triplex.
Multi-unit building
Building of no more than 3 storeys above ground and a maximum ground-floor area of 600 m².
Located in Quebec
Home that is habitable year-round and built at least 12 months before you enroll.
Residential use
At least 50% of the total area (including the basement) is used for residential purposes.
Airtightness test
The blower door test must be feasible during the assessment, otherwise the home is not eligible.
ENERGY STAR doors and windows
Installed in an existing opening. The home’s EnerGuide rating must improve after the work.
Not sure? Most owners are eligible without knowing it. See the official eligibility criteria on Québec.ca ↗︎.
How much you can get.
$150per opening
For replacing an ENERGY STAR certified door or window, calculated per rough opening (a bay of three windows in a single opening qualifies for a single $150 grant). Glass alone, the sash alone or a door without its frame are not eligible. Separate amounts also apply to insulation, air sealing and mechanical systems.

You enroll and a Rénoclimat advisor schedules the first visit. A $150 fee (plus taxes) applies; it is refunded if your grant application is approved.

The advisor carries out the assessment, the airtightness test and hands you a report with recommendations, about two weeks after the visit.

You do your energy-efficient renovations. The EnerGuide rating shown in your report must improve to be eligible.

The advisor comes back to verify the work done and runs the airtightness test again. This second assessment is free.

Reviewing the file takes 8 to 10 weeks, then your financial assistance cheque is mailed to you.

Two programs, how they compare.

A concrete example of savings.
Take a typical case: Marie and Luc, owners of a 1980s bungalow in Laval. Their original windows let air through and drive up the heating bill. They replace 14 windows and 2 doors with ENERGY STAR certified models, add a heat pump and have their roof insulated. Here is the help they could get by combining Rénoclimat and LogisVert.

- 14 windows + 2 doors ENERGY STAR · Rénoclimat (16 × $150)$2,400
- 24,000 BTU/h heat pump · LogisVert (24 × $120)$2,880
- Roof insulation + air sealing · LogisVert$1,500
- Estimated total assistance$6,780
Fictional example for illustration only. Actual amounts depend on your energy assessment, the improvement of your EnerGuide rating and the programs in effect. A Rénoclimat assessment fee of $150 (plus taxes) applies, refundable if your application is approved.
