Replacing windows in Terrebonne, in four points.

§ 06 · Our approach

How it works, from Lachenaie to La Plaine.

Condensation, drafts, a damaged frame: we go around with you to see what really needs replacing. We note the sizes, because in Terrebonne that’s what decides between a free declaration and a permit.

Advisor assessing an existing window

Is the address in the Vieux-Terrebonne, a PIIA sector or on the heritage building list? We check before asking for quotes, so the right product gets priced the first time.

Detail of a new window frame

Price per opening, exact product, installation type, warranties, lead times: we put each quote side by side and show you where the real gaps are. You choose at your own pace.

Comparing window quotes

We coordinate your Rénoclimat file from start to finish. You sign, we handle the rest. And we stay your point of contact until the work is done.

§ 07 · Permits in Terrebonne

We guide you through the paperwork.

In Terrebonne, it all depends on the size and the address. Here are the three cases, as the City presents them (checked September 30, 2026):

  • Same-size windows or doors: a declaration of work filed online, free (French).
  • Different size or an added opening: a renovation permit, form P-19, $320 in 2026. You need a certificate of location, photos of the facades and a scale drawing. It’s filed by email, by mail or at the counter, not online.
  • Vieux-Terrebonne, heritage building or PIIA sector: a $72 approval is added. Inside the declared heritage site, an authorization from the Culture ministry too.

For a permit, the City lists 5 to 10 business days to check the file, then 4 to 8 weeks of review. It is rewriting its planning bylaws for 2027, so these rules could change.

§ 08 · Prices in Terrebonne

What drives the price in Terrebonne.

$1,600 to $2,000per installed PVC window, before tax

Price depends first on the material and the number of openings. According to our estimator, set with our partner companies, a PVC window supplied and installed runs about $1,600 to $2,000 per opening, before tax.

A hybrid, about $1,900 to $2,450. An entry door, about $2,250 to $3,500. It’s a ballpark, not a guaranteed price.

A recent project in Terrebonne: every window of a single-family home replaced, with a mix of hybrid and PVC. The quote the owner chose: $17,000. The owner had a cheaper offer elsewhere, but it said nothing about frame thickness or warranties, and no one had checked Rénoclimat eligibility.

Two things specific to Terrebonne can change the bill. A $320 permit if you change the size of an opening. And, in the Vieux-Terrebonne, the authenticity rule, which can point you toward wood or a material that looks like it.

On the grant side: Rénoclimat pays $150 per ENERGY STAR opening, and the City refunds 75% of a door and window restoration with traditional materials in the Vieux-Terrebonne, up to $50,000 over three years. The full math is in our article on window replacement costs.

Frequently asked questions

We answer your questions

Not for same-size windows: a free online declaration of work is enough. If you change the size of an opening or add one, you need a renovation permit (form P-19), at $320 in 2026.

Not necessarily. The area is a declared heritage site, and the PIIA bylaw requires doors and windows to preserve their authenticity. You need approval from both the City and the Culture ministry, and we check the address before asking for quotes.

The City lists 5 to 10 business days to check the file, then 4 to 8 weeks of review. A PIIA adds time. Work can only start once the permit is issued, and it has to be posted during the job.

Rénoclimat does: $150 per ENERGY STAR door or window installed in an existing opening, anywhere in Québec. LogisVert doesn’t cover doors and windows. And the City has no energy-efficiency program for windows.

It depends on your house, your budget and the model, not the logo. We don’t sell any brand. We compare up to 5 quotes from carefully selected companies and show you what really changes from one offer to the next.

Yes. Since 2001, Terrebonne brings together the former municipalities of Terrebonne, Lachenaie and La Plaine. We help homeowners in every sector, from the Vieux-Terrebonne to La Plaine.
