What is Rénoclimat in 2026?
Rénoclimat is a Quebec government program that helps homeowners improve their home’s energy performance (quebec.ca). A certified advisor evaluates your home before and after your work, then you receive financial support based on the gains achieved.
Replacing doors and windows is one of the covered upgrades, as long as the new products are ENERGY STAR certified. It’s only one of several eligible measures: insulation, air sealing and certain mechanical systems count too.
How much can you get?
For your doors and windows, the support is $150 per opening replaced with an ENERGY STAR certified product (quebec.ca). That’s $150 per existing opening, not per pane: a bay of three windows in a single opening qualifies for one grant.

- Air sealing, to reduce heat leaks.

Eligibility conditions
Rénoclimat targets residential homes located in Quebec. Here are the broad strokes of the official criteria (quebec.ca):
- Single-family, semi-detached or row house, mobile home, year-round cottage, duplex or triplex.
- Multi-unit building of at most 3 storeys above ground and 600 m² of floor area.
- Year-round dwelling, built at least 12 months before you take part.
- At least 50% of the total area is used for residential purposes.
- The blower door test must be possible to run during the evaluation.
- Your doors and windows must be ENERGY STAR certified and installed in an existing opening.

The Rénoclimat process, step by step
The program follows a set order, from the first call to the check. Here are the 5 steps, in the order they happen:
- Registration and pre-work evaluation. A $150 plus tax fee applies, refunded if your application is approved.
- Advisor visit. They run the blower door test and hand you a report with recommendations, about two weeks later.
- The work gets done. Your EnerGuide rating needs to improve to stay eligible.
- Post-work evaluation. The advisor returns to confirm the work and re-runs the test. This visit is free.
- Review and payment. The file takes 8 to 10 weeks to process, then your check is mailed.

Hydro-Québec’s LogisVert program
LogisVert is Hydro-Québec’s program for energy-efficient upgrades. Unlike Rénoclimat, it doesn’t cover door or window replacement for an owner-occupier, except in some rental buildings. It targets heat pumps, roof insulation and other measures instead.
The good news: Rénoclimat and LogisVert generally stack. If your project also includes a heat pump or insulation, it’s worth checking both programs at once instead of one at a time.
